C4C welcomes new Program Director, Brandie Macdonald

We are excited to welcome Brandie Macdonald to the Cycles for Change team as our new Program Director!

Brandie is an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation, with ancestral ties to the Choctaw Nation. She is an educator, writer, explorer, and most importantly an elder in training who is dedicated to social justice and cultural equity. Before joining the C4C team, Brandie worked as Program Manager at First Peoples Fund where she worked nationally with the artist professional development and community building programs. She founded First Peoples Funds’ youth leadership development program, Dances with Words, which created platforms for young people on the Pine Ridge Reservation to become self-empowered and civically engaged through poetry. Brandie also has 7 years of experience working in museum education and volunteer management. She holds a B.A. in Applied Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is a M.Ed candidate from Loyola University Chicago. She was a 2016 Fellow for the Salzburg Global Seminar, 2015 Leadership Fellow for Intermedia Arts Creative Community Leadership Institute, 2013 Diversity Fellow for the American Alliance of Museums, and was named one of Charlotte’s Prominent Community Leaders under the age of 40 by Charlotte Building Initiative in 2011.
